When free radicals enter human bodies, they impose themselves on other molecules. Fortunately are available to halt this unwelcome process, but the human body cannot produce enough antioxidants, and must rely on plants to satisfy our needs. In these circumstances, it is easy to understand why it is essential to choose our diet with care, and make sure that we include ample antioxidant busting fruit and vegetables in our food.
Antioxidants have been proven to offset the oxidation in the body caused by free radicals, or to put it plainly, defend you from free radical damage. Make no mistake about it that shield you from several of the most serious ailments, such as cancer, heart disease, strokes, and many others. There are those who even believe that an adequate amount of in their food can defer the process of getting old! You might understandably ask just where these awful free radicals come from, but the truth is that they may not be as terrible as you think. Free radicals can also help our bodies to fight germs, so it is an excess of free radicals that is responsible for health problems, and not a balanced amount.
Unfortunately, the risk from free radicals is not solely from food, but also from environmental sources, including industrial fumes, cigarette smoke, and others.
